The most important thing you need to bring is the sunscreen, preferably with an SPF of 30 or more. Sunscreens are important so that you will not get burned by the sun. If you still have not bought one yet, then head down to the nearest drug store and get one. It would be better if you can find and buy a waterproof variant of the sunscreens.
Remember to bring extra children’s wetsuits, as well as your own swimsuits. Ideally, you must bring at least two swimwears to the beach so that you can replace the one you are wearing when some unforeseeable things happen. You do not want to end up wearing your going-home clothes in the middle of your trip, right?
You should also bring pairs of flip flops for everybody coming to the trip to the beach. Flip flops are ideal for this type of event because they are easy to wear and you can still feel the sand without burning your feet during the middle of the day. They also come in different colors and designs, so there will always a pair that will match your swimsuit, as well as your kids’ swimwear.
Protection from the sunscreen sometimes is not enough, especially on a really hot day. So, it is important that you pack some hats and sunglasses to protect your face and your eyes, respectively. The beach in the middle of the day could be so bright and so blisteringly hot, so it is good to have some added protection for you and your kids.
Finally, do not forget about your snacks and drinks. You must pack enough food for everybody because you cannot be sure that there will be food stalls near the beach where you are going to. It is also more convenient than going around and buying from the food stalls. Moreover, water is very important for trips to the beach. From all the activities that you will be doing and the heat the beach, you are at high risk for dehydration. Pack gallons of water, if possible, and it would be better if you can pack some ice, too.
Other than these essential things to bring at the beach, you can also pack some miscellaneous stuff that can make your trip more fun. You can bring some appropriate kids’ toys, like beach balls. The kids’ wetsuits and your own swimsuits are important, but do not forget to pack the other items as well.
